Begin Series with Padres tomorrow
The Colorado Rockies became victims of the worst team in NL West as the Arizona Diamondbacks swept the Rockies in three straight games with an astounding combined score of 34-19. It was the first series sweep of the season for the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
“Their offense shows up against us,” Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. “Once they got rolling, it was tough to stop them.”
“It took long enough,” D-backs manager Chip Hale said in reference to finally getting a home sweep. “We’d have liked to have done it earlier, but the guys are playing hard. We talk to them a lot about keep playing nine innings, keep playing hard, and they’ve never stopped. Even during the tough times, the losing streaks, they’ve never stopped playing hard.”
The Rockies will have a day to lick their wounds before welcoming back the San Diego Padres to Coors Field. The last meeting between the two teams ended up splitting four games.
