Rockies to retire Helton’s Jersey

The Colorado Rockies have announced that they plan to retire #17 from the Rockies roster.  #17 was worn by First baseman Todd Helton.  Helton retired at the close of last season.

The ceremony will take place August 17th before the final game of a four-game home stand against the Cincinnati Reds.

Rockies hope to break in to NL Playoffs

After finishing last in the NL West last season, the Colorado Rockies are hoping that talented young players like Josh Rutledge, Chris Nelson and Wilson Rosario will add  a spark to the offense that was so sorely missed last season.
